After the evolutionary tumult of last month, we are able to begin planting the seeds of our new life. As Taurus energy pervades the atmosphere, we get to revel in the sensual and material pleasures of life. Taurus is also about sustenance and stability so slowing down is in order (after the manic energy of Aries). This is a highly fertile period both in nature and in the development of our creations. Sparks fly this month with an incendiary lineup of planets in Aries (the sign of heat and explosions ). The Sun, Mars,Venus and Uranus are all travelling together to be joined by Mercury (messages from above) on April 14th. Love, sexuality and creativity receive a burst of energy on April 7th when Mars + Venus conjoin, also revealing a new affectional nature that is different and more exploratory than previous seasons. The transformation of the next few years is aided by the opportunistic sextile between Saturn in Scorpio (shadow work) and Pluto in Capricorn (tyrannical overlord). The two powerful planets are in an astrological configuration called mutual reception. This is an occurance whereby the two planets can swap out or mix and match their energies in whatever way is most evolutionarily sound. In this instance, Saturn in the sign of Scorpio (the rebirth of passion) working positively with Pluto in Capricorn (destroyer of outmoded structures) can get the job of transformation and resurrection done. While this energy has been in play since December 2012, there is an exact lineup of these two titans on March 11th at a degree that will presage larger global changes in April.
February is the month of love so let us focus on all forms of this human experience – agape (friendship), eros (sexual love), and amor (spiritual love).
We are still in the grip of a challenging and transformative finger of god that is forcing us to extract ancient soul wounding and choose new templates for relating to self, others and the larger world.
Love has multiple expressions–but one reality– recognition of the self in the other.
The Aquarian one-love (of humanity and friendship/agape nature) vibe is in evidence throughout the month with the Sun, Mars, Mercury and Venus all in the sign of groups and tribal associations. We can all get on with our lives in an adult fashion now that the disaster or esctasy fetish of 2012 has passed. On day one of 2013, we hear news of how the New Year will unfold when Mercury travels on the World Axis at 0 Capricorn. He joins the Sun who is already firmly esconced in the sign of maturity, materialization, mastery. The next three weeks and months are get busy time as all of the outer planets, save Jupiter, are in forward motion. We are propelled also by a powerful yod (finger of God) whereby Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio work in tandem to expand our personal and spiritual visions. At the same time, Jupiter in Gemini is in an uncomfortable angle with these giants, pressuring us to change old programming from the ages of 4 – 9. We are being called upon to discern and then eliminate immature thoughts that say we are too small, too uninformed or too flighty to get the job of our life done.
Likewise at the beginning of the month, Mars (the planet of action, motivation and sexuality) is in an opportunistic aspect with Uranus (the awakener). You may find you have a facile ability to break free from constraints, let go of subjectivity around touchy subjects and work confidently toward your goals. You now have the inspiration and the energy to reach out to like-minded souls and build your tribe.
