February is the month of love so let us focus on all forms of this human experience – agape (friendship), eros (sexual love), and amor (spiritual love).
We are still in the grip of a challenging and transformative finger of god that is forcing us to extract ancient soul wounding and choose new templates for relating to self, others and the larger world.
Love has multiple expressions–but one reality– recognition of the self in the other.
The Aquarian one-love (of humanity and friendship/agape nature) vibe is in evidence throughout the month with the Sun, Mars, Mercury and Venus all in the sign of groups and tribal associations. Yet, all this free love vibration hits a snag on Feb 11th when Venus squares Saturn demanding some form of committment. If you’re not all in, you’re out. We can all get on with our lives in an adult fashion now that the disaster or esctasy fetish of 2012 has passed. On day one of 2013, we hear news of how the New Year will unfold when Mercury travels on the World Axis at 0 Capricorn. He joins the Sun who is already firmly esconced in the sign of maturity, materialization, mastery. The next three weeks and months are get busy time as all of the outer planets, save Jupiter, are in forward motion. We are propelled also by a powerful yod (finger of God) whereby Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio work in tandem to expand our personal and spiritual visions. At the same time, Jupiter in Gemini is in an uncomfortable angle with these giants, pressuring us to change old programming from the ages of 4 – 9. We are being called upon to discern and then eliminate immature thoughts that say we are too small, too uninformed or too flighty to get the job of our life done.
Likewise at the beginning of the month, Mars (the planet of action, motivation and sexuality) is in an opportunistic aspect with Uranus (the awakener). You may find you have a facile ability to break free from constraints, let go of subjectivity around touchy subjects and work confidently toward your goals. You now have the inspiration and the energy to reach out to like-minded souls and build your tribe.
While the phrase 2012 has a lot of charge to it, it has not panned out to be the disaster movie or second coming that certain groups have positioned it to be. Instead, we have all dealt with the dramatic energies of change or die in our own personal lives instead. Breakups, breakdowns, breakthroughs have occurred for many of us.
If there is an astrological significator of 2012 in December, it is the Uranus direct station on Dec 12-13th. Uranus (the awakener) arouses to bring forth new insights into consciousness, creativity, structures etc. He also disrupts what is lacking in integrity and strength. While this energy is not totally new (we’ve been living with this strain of Uranus since 2010), it is gaining momentum and complexity with it’s interactions with Saturn (commitment) Neptune (inspiration) and Pluto (transformation). So the excitement continues! If life seems to be unfolding in multiple directions without a clear destination in sight, it is the result of overlapping planetary alignements.
This month, we begin to receive some clarity and movement forward in distinct pathways. But first, we may take a tiny roundabout with the infamous Mercury retrograde occuring Nov 6th and moving forward on Nov 26th. As the retrograde cycle will be happening a few days after the Election, we can be certain there will be many questions about who the true winner is. This has already been amplified by the superstorm Sandy, which had shut down power and communications all along the Eastern seaboard, but will also be experienced as potential voter fraud and miscounting of votes.
