As of February 3rd, the dreams of the last 14 years fall away and we are in the midst of a new cycle of visioning.  Neptune in Aquarius did bring us the “dream of the collective” and the promise/nightmare of technology with the Internet, social networking and cel phone technology bringing people closer while also challenging our privacy or sense of reality.  Neptune moving into Pisces will be a very different universal hope–that of connecting to God and our spritual source.  Art, esoterica, poetry and film will be the areas that will most benefit from Neptune’s move into the sign of the collective unconscious.  Those most affected will include anyone with a Pisces Sun, Moon or Ascendent and they will feel as if, for the first time in their lives, they are in their element.  Most zodiac signs have an experience of their ruling planet being in its best form, but for Pisces, whose ruler is Neptune and has a 156 year cycle, no one has experienced this transit in our lifetime.

Saturn, our task master, and yes, the party pooper extraordinaire is the opposite of Neptune and his role is to get us to understand the limits of our three-dimensional world and forces us to see the chinks in the armor of our lives and dreams.  While this might sound depressing, he is actually a wonderfully corrective energy in our lives because

he asks that we approach our work and relationships with a sense of mastery.  Anything worth having requires some effort and committment and int this regard, Saturn is our friend and constant guide.

Saturn in Libra has been the “cause” of many relationship breakups as he has shown us that unequal situations are no longer tenable.  If you are approaching a Saturn fork in the road in your relationship (i.e. you have been together for almost 7, 14 or 21 years) this might be the time to move on if the relationship is not a positive force in your life.  This is the natural exit point or opportunity to redefine and restructure the arrangement.  This includes our connection to our professions, families, jobs, homes and future goals.

For those still on the fence, an event may occur on or around Feb 8th that will clearly show you what is untenable and what is required to disentangle you from the situation.  Whatever comes up will be resolved in the summer and you will be free of Saturn in Libra,  and the lesson of equality in relationships–for the next 28 years.

Later in the month, Venus, the planet of love and ruler of Libra, will move into the sign of Aries and we will definitely want to be free.  The victimhood of Pisces, where Venus has been since Jan 15th,  will now give way to a strong need for independence and excitement when it comes to relationships.  Aries is an initiatory energy so we will find ourselves more motivated to go after what we want, declare our love and find ways to express a more dominant side of our nature.

And even if we are finding that we want to take action, always an Aries vibration, we can still speak in a soothing and mellifluous tone as Mercury and the Sun will be settling into Pisces on the 15th and 20th respectively.  In this regard, there will still be a slight tug back into the past and into inertia, but take note of what your Venus now wants and by the time the sun moves into Aries in March, you will be full speed ahead in defining a new set of values (and attracting a new paramour.)

ARIES

Last month you may have finalized a chapter around your dreams and your relationship and given it a fond kiss farewell.  It is now time to merge more deeply with the collective and your own highly intuitive powers of perception.  For the next 14 years, if you dream it, you can create it because that inspiration is coming directly from Source.  You may still be stuck in rewind concerning your template for a partner, so even if you sneak back to an ex, you will most likely realize that come June, your instincts concerning this situation were right on all along.  You start to get some spit and fire in your step mid-month and from then on, you won’t need or want to cling to anyone who holds you back.  The inner murmurings that you hear in your new found spaciousness will seed the next decade of your life.

TAURUS

You’ve completed your professional apprenticeship and now it is time for the full-on committment.  There may still be a few tiny details that need to be attended to, but come the fall, you will be making your debut on the career stage.  You will be thinking bigger and brighter as the year progresses and in order for your work to fulfill you, you must connect your dreams to a greater humanitarian cause.  A part of you is still feeling a bit shy, but Venus in your 12th house of the unconscious is stirring up your inner warrior and he/she will make her debut come the Spring solstice next month.  Use that hidden fierceness to connect to others who share your dreams of a more beautiful and transcendent world.

GEMINI

You have finally gotten your head and your heart onto the same page after possiblly a lifetime of separating the two.  But the heart has wisdom and the mind has compassion and these now combined will bring forth a change in career and public role over the next 14 years.  You may still need to review the rules of relationship engagement and integrate the desire for partnership with the need for excitement.  Believe it or not, you CAN have both provided you stick around long enough to receive the benefits of committed love.  If you want to wander, do so in your creative life and social ideals and in this arena, you can be Joan of Arc and  William the Conquerer.  You can now speak words that inspire and attract and set the foundation for a new professional identity.

CANCER

How to find intimacy in a settting that does not necessarily include family members (those in your clan)?  That has been your task over the last few years and you have created that with friends or a loved one.  Now it is time to move on and bring this unity and compassion into the international and transpersonal realm.  Sure, right now you may feel a little bereft because you’ve had to say goodbye to someone who has felt like family but since you’ve grown up, you need to be able to stand on your own for a bit. You’ve got dragons to slay and battles to win in the professional arena so you need to sharpen your sword and cut lose of any regressive ties.  If you want the beautiful energy of merging, use it in the realm of poetry and writing or a far-away romance.   This is a new way to nourish your soul without the dependency on others.

LEO

You realize, after much struggle, that communication is the most important ingredient in a relationship.  Several years of not knowing what was going on with a partner forced you to speak in clear and certain terms.  If they were lost, you needed to let them go and along with that, perhaps a fantasy of romantic love.  Fear not, a new dream and one that is more likely to occur now lands in your lap and that is one that involves collaboration on a deep level.  Yes, for some in can mean a transcendent love affair, for others the creative partner of your dreams.  Keep your sights on far shores as that is where your audience is most likely to be and your adventures manifest most dramatically.  Save some time, however, for some very private musing with the one who feels like home.

Time to consolidate those professional relationships that have proved worthy or supportive of your endeavors and release once and for all those associations that are dragging you down.  You need to open up space for love and adventure so listen for the whisperings of one who would exalt you in your rightful home.

CAPRICORN

Your career may be at an all-time high or coming to a halt.  This is all based on whether or not you feel you have chosen the right profession that allows you to reveal your true mastery.  It has been hard to know what you are good at, despite an obvious professionalism, but this month you will awaken as if from a dream and know what is your rightful calling . And certainly, despite your aura of conservatism, you are anything but and so allow the new people who are shaking up your life and home free reign.  The truth is you are a dreamer and you manifest your abundance not through limitation, but through being in alignment with all that is.

AQUARIUS

It has been hard to get a handle on anything for so long, such as who am I and what do I believe?  Neptune’s 14 year transit through your sign has separated you permanently from any constructed self that was not true.  You were meant to drift and explore and not know the outcome.  This month you will begin to understand the purpose of your life and the thought process and spiritual grounding that will make it so.  It’s time to start writing about and sharing your experience and even if you don’t like to write, enlist the skills of women or friends who are buzzing about your story.  Believe it or not, this walk through the garden of gethsemane will be the one thing that will give you value and credibility and eventually pad your bank account.

PISCES

Similar to Aquarius, you have been on a journey of letting go and just allowing the universe to move you along.  You were required to unleash old wounds and learn to create proper boundaries in relationships.  In many cases, it was clear that your romantic and financial situations were inbalanced and you paid the price.  As the sign connected to universal consciousness, you needed to understand all the aspects of yourself, even through the mirror of others.  You are in a new cycle around self-worth and money as well as burgeoning new relationships.  Just be your delightful and soulful self.  This is the time to call in the one because you are ready and he has been waiting for a very long time.

We start the year with a mix of Capricorn and Aquarius energies.  This is fitting as the ruler of both these signs is Saturn (planet of three-dimensional reality).  Yet where Capricorn is more the old guard, Aquarius represents the new evolutionary impulse.  Sometimes, because Aquarius has both Saturn and Uranus as its ruler, we will notice extreme behaviors and ideologies vying for supremacy in the Aquarian individual.  She both resents and respects the status quo and depending on what side of the continuum she is on, the Aquarian woman can be a visionary or a rebel just for the sake of being contrary.  (think: Oprah on the one hand and Sarah Palin on the other).

Capricorn most benefits us when we use the energy to manifest ideas into material form and long-term structures.  Capricorn restricts us when we feel overwhelmed by shoulds and guilts.  This will be particularly evident when Mercury (planet of communication and thought) moves into Capricorn on Jan 9th.  On the low end, Mercury in Capricorn can be depressive and stuck in limitation.  In its higher form, Mercury in Capricorn understands how business works, how to manouver in political arenas and shows strong powers of leadership.  With Venus travelling through Aquarius as the month opens, we once again get the commingling of Saturn and Uranus so try to find ways to concretize more advanced, humanitarian ideals or bring your vision into a more solid and effective form.

As we hit midmonth, Venus (planet of love and values) will move into Pisces on Jan 15th and we will begin the journey of living out our dreams and/or illusions.  Venus is putting her toe in the waters and as of next month, Neptune (her higher love) will be settling into the sign of its rulership for 14 years.  Notice how your values and affections shift this month and try finding ways to merge the scientific and the spiritual in new ways.  This will be the task coming up as the decade progresses.

Lastly, Mars (planet of sexuality, action, motivation) turns retrograde in Virgo for three months.  Mars already entered the sign of details and finetuning last year and will stay in Virgo until July.  Mars retrograde is notorious for bringing back old lovers, male cohorts, competitors, fellow activists.  Decide who is most attuned to who you are now and either enjoy a lovely reunion or give yourself a high five for refusing to relive what is a dysfunctional situation.  Use discernment, a Virgo word in noticing who crosses your path as there may be a gem in the form of a soulmate, particularly in relation to the house activity in which this young man appears.

With all planets direct this month (including Jupiter, bringer of gifts) a lot can get accomplished so focus on the positive, the soul-growth opportunities, the enlivening parts of your experiences and disregard that which pulls you back to the past or to your more insecure self.  She isn’t even you any longer while your future self is coalesceing as we speak.

The focus is definitely on career this month and you should gain clarity on how close you are to accomplishing your goal of ruling the world.  As always there are those who see you for the persona you’re becoming and they know your potential, so if you are still harboring any doubts as to your abilities, give those fears the heave-ho.  As much as you can thrive in corporate environments, there is a part of you that loves to escape into your own private world and you may choose to withdraw for some meditation and spiritual nourishment mid-month.    A project or work relationship may run into a few snags, particularly around the 23rd.  Whatever needs to be worked through will take until the summer to sort out.  Not a problem as, in this case, fixing a minor detail yields magnificent results this fall.

TAURUS

While you are generally perceived as a sweet soul, your mental capacities are fairly sophisticated, albeit oftentimes too conservative for your own good.  You may notice as the month progresses that you need to take charge of the thoughts you tell yourself and only focus on the ones that say you are up to the task of your own life. Some new opportunities seem to be lurking on the career horizon and they include technology, science, alternative therapies or art.  If your work can somehow save the world, you’re golden and you will meet people mid-month on who intuit what you say.  More than most, an older lover is likely to return.  If he/she has changed, you might want to give it another go.  If not, keep your eyes open for someone who zaps open your heart–and it’s karmic.

GEMINI

Leo’s dirty secret is that Virgo is your second house of self-esteem and Capricorn is your sixth house of work.  In English this means that you are usually pretty hard on yourself and perfectionistic beyond belief.  Additionally, you either appreciate the corporate world, or feel slighted, but you cannot escape noticing where you stand in the business hierarchy.  You may gain some perspective and a new skill in communicating your appreciation for the status quo.  Go back in time and see who affected your self-esteem in such a profound way–it seems to have its origin in a male figure or brother-type of relationship.  But even while you’re working through your “job history”, leave room for love and frolicing as there are delightful opportunities in the romance department.

The changes will probably not be ending soon, but you are starting to understand how you can move into your new more authoritative role.  Surprisingly, it doesn’t involve anything too conservative or corporate.  Yes, on the surface you may look like the company woman, but how you will make your money has more to do with ingenuity and future-oriented products.  As your fellow earth signs, you can get too caught in form and forget that everything originates in the ethers or spiritual realm.  A man or competitor from the past may challenge you to loosen up your thinking and figure out the best way to craft an idea that is useful to everyone.

AQUARIUS

We are all complicated beings and the same is true for you Aquarians.  On the surface, you’re the free spirit or zany one, but underneath you are usually rather conservative and status oriented.  The cosmic energy is focussed on getting you to move into your rightful place as an innovator or visionary.  And if you use your intuition, rather than your fear to suss out “the next thing”, you will find that money comes more easily and with less effort.  You are one of the luckier signs in the love and sex department as well as old lovers are very likely to be contacting you and begging for a second go-around.  Here is perhaps where that hidden realism comes in handy. If that person has not changed or done any work on themselves, it is highly unlikely that you will get what you didn’t get the first time around.  Follow through only with the person who can walk their talk.

PISCES

Even if you don’t see yourself as a motivated person or corporate player, you do run with those in high places or grab the attention of powerful individuals.  This month you may be offered a chance to bring your vision to a larger audience through a corporate sponsor.  It sounds silly, but make sure to dress the part and if you need to, change your hairstyle or re-work your wardrobe because that little bit of effort may yield gigantic results.  Don’t be afraid to be different, in fact, that is your charm. Those who have known you before are dying to reconnect.  You may decide that you would rather not unless they’ve cleaned up their act.  Keep your antenna up for a new individual who is healthy and supportive and can make your life run more smoothly.  He’s the keeper!

Try to handle the disruptions with grace as the fallout allows for new growth and opportunities.  On the same day, we also experience a lunar eclipse in Gemini.  This series is the bookend to events that began in September 2007 so note what has come round full circle or has reached it’s culmination.  Since it occurs on the Uranus station, this eclipse has more ballast and zip to it than normal.

Mercury turned retrograde on Thanksgiving and will move into forward motion on December 13th, in the sign of Sagittarius.  As mentioned in last month’s colunmn, the Thanksgiving holidays were probably quite volatile but Mercury served to give voice to the the underlying family mythology and on whether these beliefs served you or not.

It is likely that they were somewhat naive at best, damning at worst.  The three week period in between allowed us to find ways to expand into new terrain regarding our goals and larger purpose and this month, we can move forward with new inspiration.

Every seasonal solstice occurs on the World Axis and since 2008, has been setting off the Cardinal Cross of massive change and this December 23rd is no exception.

What you have been dismantling these last several years have cleared the decks for new developments and accomplishments, some of which will be more evident to you during the holidays.

Lastly, Jupiter in Taurus, a Santa-Claus if there ever were one, also moves forward on December 25th so expect to see your finances and projects expand and solidify in the early weeks in January 2012.

You may have changed your goals in recent months and this time you are on a clear path of individuation.  This may involve a media or online presence and the eclipses have shown you who is in your corner and who is not.  Listen to what partners say, but only those who are interested in your self-development.  The others may simply be expressing your own old fears and inhibitions.  You do have a guardian angel behind the scenes, he may have been snoozing these last few months, but once we reach the new year, you will be blessed with some fated introductions.  One on them could include the man or woman of your dreams.

CANCER

Either you or elements of your job have shifted and you are taking a more independent stance in your professional life.  You may also have received a wakeup call concerning certain health or lifestyle concerns that have inhibited your energy and motivation.  Sometimes we think it’s better to dream small because it appears safer, but there are individuals in your life that are pushing you beyond your limits.  There is one significant other that is putting you through changes and then there is the larger arena of your social networking that will support the goals of the new you.

LEO

The action planet, Mars, moves into Virgo on the 12th and will stay in this sign through next June.  This is a very long time for fast-moving Mars to remain in one area of the zodiac and this is due to it turning retrograde in January.  Mars will ask us to purify or delineate our regular everyday practices and these include our diets, working conditions and movement.  Mars also deals with sexuality and it is here where we may notice how we have either used our sexuality indiscriminately or where we have been shut down (Virgo being the virgin or somewhat cold).  For those with a strong Virgo signature, be prepared to see men from the past return to your life.  This means not only exes of various sorts, but also the man you had your eye on in college or a stranger who feels totally familiar.

Our regular friend Mercury once again turns retrograde on Thanksgiving, Nov 24th and remains in backward motion until mid December.  In the sign of Sagittarius, Mercury this go around will prompt us to reevaluate our beliefs and whether they are large enough to incorporate paradoxes and multi-layered thinking.  Sag is about the truth and fortunately or unfortunately, there will be a lot of arguments at your turkey day dinner with individuals perhaps being a bit dogmatic about their point of view.

Notice where you may have absorbed a “should” or cultural belief that does not fit you anymore.  You’ll be much clearer come the end of year holidays. Lastly, Thanksgiving has more sparkle to it because, in addition to Mercury turning retrograde, we will experience a solar eclipse at 2 degrees Sagitarrius.  We’ve already begun the cycle of Gemini/Sag eclipses this June and this is the second beginning eclipse in this sign pair.  Sagitarrius is about visioning and a larger social purpose so wherever it falls in your chart is where you want to think big.  Foreign affairs and publishing are also natural areas that Sag overseas so depending on your particular chart placement, you may find you have a case of wanderlust.  It may be geographical or spiritual in nature, but adventure calls and you must answer with an open mind and heart.

ARIES
