Chocolate for breakfast?  Yes please.  This smoothie brings me back to Sunday mornings when I would drink chocolate milk and watch cartoons.  Chia seeds and flax seeds give it a thick, almost milk-shake like texture, the cayenne pepper and salt give it a sophisticated flavor palate, while the raw cacao tastes dang good— and fills you up on antioxidants and vital nutrients.

This is a perfect way to start ANY day.

Spiced chocolate breakfast smoothie

  • ½ cup milk alternative
  • 1 cup water
  • 2.5 Tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • ½ scoop natural protein powder (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 pinches of cayenne pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 7 drops of stevia (I use vanilla crème)

Put everything in a blender and mix until all the seeds are broken down and the texture is smooth and creamy.
