The President of Hay House Publishing Gets Personal with Bella Life

This June celebrate the fathers in your lives and recognize the importance of masculine energy in your lives. Ladies, pass this on to all the men you know!

As a man who adds color to the bookshelves and lives of virtually everyone in the spiritual audience, Reid Tracy, President and CEO of Hay House Publishing and Executive Producer of movies such as “The Shift” with Dr. Wayne Dyer and “You Can Heal Your Life” about Louise Hay’s life, talks to Your Bella Life about how the role of men in the home and at work is being re-colored.

Father Knows Best When He:

Gets Involved. Your children are only young once and childhood is a short of time. Reid notes that men seem more involved in raising their children now then a generation ago. Work flexibility is a key component for many men who feel they don’t have the time to participate with their children because they have to work. Reid deliberately sticks to the work hours he set for himself: Monday – Thursday, 6am to 5:30pm. Reid takes Fridays off for family time.

Seizes the Moment. Enjoying the moment is a challenge to most people and is most rewarding when you can truly soak in your family life. Bet your son will light up if you proactively ask him to go outside for a catch. Schedule in some quality time with your children whether just at home talking or go out for a bike ride, stroll the streets, grab a bite to eat and do some of the following:

Enjoy a free concert at Madison Square Park

Explore Mars at Mars 2112

Play sports or take a sports lesson together at Chelsea Piers

Go for adventure at the new Harry Potter Discovery Exhibition in Times Square

Leads By Example. Since the kids will follow their father’s example, how a father acts and treats their children and other people leaves lasting impressions. Reid suggests leading by example for how you act they will aspire to act and hope that they see the positive impact you have on their lives.

Make A Difference. Life of service is a noble endeavor whether you are out in the spotlight or behind the scenes making it happen. Selecting a path that inspires your children like Reid who feels his “biggest motivation for continuing to work at Hay House is the positive feedback from people whose lives have been changed by reading a Hay House book or attending a seminar.” Reinforce to your children that they can make a difference over a Hay House Children’s book like Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book “Unstoppable Me.” Experience the feeling of giving back by getting involved and doing volunteer work with your children, find a project that calls to you and your children at New York Cares www.NYCares.org.

Shares the Pants. We are best when we draw from each other’s strengths. For 23 years, Reid has worked for the largest woman owned publishing company in the world.  Feeling supported is tantamount to a colorful corporate life. Reid has made his share of mistakes and is grateful to have found a supportive partner in Louise Hay. Whether you are the worker bee or the employer, consider being supportive and using positive reinforcement and affirmations rather than making threats as a way of motivation. Has Mentors. Dr. Wayne Dyer who is dubbed the “father of motivation” is probably the biggest male influence in Reid’s life. They speak regularly and about everything. Finding a mentor and a role model to bounce off ideas with is key.  Share time with Dr. Dyer via Hay House Radio http://www.hayhouseradio.com Look for a mentor or become a mentor at www.nyc.gov.

This summer, refresh your view towards the men in your life.
