You know when you keep hearing someones name pop up and it seems like one day you didn’t know them, and then before you know it you see their name everywhere? That’s how I feel about our Woman To Watch Laura Roeder, and I am THRILLED to share her with you today!  Laura has a likeability that makes you want to jump out of your seat, pick of the phone and chat with her right that second.  She has an incredible ability to make just about everything on the web seem like a fun and fabulous wonderland ready to play at any moment and she is more then willing to invite you along for the ride.  So much so that she is even writing a book about it that will be out soon, check out the details below!

To be more specific, Laura Roeder is a social media marketing expert who teaches small businesses how to become known as #1 in their field and claim their brand online.

Laura has been a speaker at numerous influential industry conferences including, The South by Southwest Interactive Conference, Online Marketing For Women Entrepreneurs, The Social Communications Summit and Blogher, discussing social media marketing marketing, technology, and personal branding. Bella Life: What’s your favorite part about owning your own business?

Laura Roeder: My favorite part about owning my own business is the time freedom! I have full control over my schedule and the freedom to take off whenever I want is awesome.

BL: I see you work with clients and businesses one on one, what are three things your clients get out of these intimate sessions?

LR:

1. Simplification – most people are pursuing so many directions at once that they can’t fully focus on anything. We simplify the highest leverage (and most fun) revenue streams in their business.

2. Marketing Plans – I work with clients to develop exactly how they’re going to get the word out about their business.

3. Saved Time – I am very open with clients about what has and hasn’t worked in my business – being able to talk to someone that’s a few steps ahead can save years of struggle.

BL: Many of our readers are entrepreneurs; can you share a time in your business when you struggled and how you over came it?

LR: When I first made the switch from web design to social media consulting, I wasn’t sure how to structure my business. I saw other social media consultants going after big contracts with big companies, so that’s what I did as well. I wasn’t very successful and I felt frustrated by my new direction.

Soon after, I stumbled upon the world of online video training and knew I had found the perfect model for me. I tried out creating and selling my first video training and there was so much more ease and fun than sending out proposals for consulting. I haven’t looked back since!

BL: At Bella Life we are all about adding COLOR to your world, doing what makes you happy and makes you feel vibrantly fulfilled daily.  How do you add COLOR to your world Laura?

LR: I live in a beautiful place! I think it’s very important to feel inspired by where you live, and just walking around my neighborhood in Southern California is like visiting the most incredible botanical garden. I love to get out into nature.

BL: We see you’re in a successful partnership with our friend Marie Forleo, many times partnerships can be very challenging, how do you know who to partner with?

LR: You have to have a strong philosophy match with your partner, and trust them 100%. I trust Marie’s decisions on any aspect of our business.

BL: What are three things you can’t live without?

LR: Tea – I drink tea every morning. Green tea, English breakfast, or yerba mate.

Macs – yes, I’m on the computer a lot! I looove my MacBook air.

Girlfriends – my friends are an important part of my life and spending time with them fills me up.
