Listen To The Flow
Editors Note: I often try so hard to control everything so that it is just the way I want it to be, and the way I imagined it would be, only to find that rarely works. The acts of letting go, having faith, and being patient are so incredibly trans-formative. They are also ways of being that seem so simple in theory but not as much when it is time to practice them in our daily lives. Take a deep breathe and read this article, afterwards I recommend that you sit in silence for five minutes to allow yourself to listen to what is going on within. ~Nitika~
There is a voice within all of us, that when listened to, grows stronger and guides us through life. It’s the voice within that we listened to as children when we had enough to eat and were able to stop, with food still on our plate. It’s the voice that we listen to when we feel a yearning to take yoga or go for a run. It’s the connection we feel when thinking about someone and they call a few seconds later. It’s the energy we feel when we are pulled to a particular person, book, place or meal.
This flow is beyond thought. It is divine intelligence rather then direction of the mind. It is not proceeded by a “should” and there is no pressure to follow. This is the flow of life, of energy, and when we listen to it life becomes much easier.
The left side of your brain may be confused or even irritated by the words above. It cannot understand this concept; it is not supposed to. This is a concept beyond comprehension because there is no thought involved. It is in the moments when we are not thinking that we can most easily connect to the flow of life.
For me the flow speaks loudest when I am running, dancing and at inspirational talks. I cannot describe in words the feeling or knowingness when the flow speaks to me, I am just simply learning to listen and follow.
With uncertainty and faith we must trust this divine life force, because to our minds it won’t always, or may never make sense. However the more we resist the flow, the harder life appears to be. We may always be trying to do the “right” thing. As far ahead as we may get there will always be the feeling that something is missing. A void we may never be able to fill because we are never truly listening to what the voice within needs.
As we grow older many lose connection with the flow from within yet it is a power that never leaves. To live a life of greater ease, joy and peace there are steps one can take for to reconnect to our flow.
Follow These Steps To Flow with Life:
(1) Do what you love. Even if it may seem like a waste of time or energy or even unproductive, do what you love, as often as possible. What you love, and the way you do it is unique in itself. There is a reason why some people love to sing, and others don’t or cant’. It is your gift, your flow, use it.
(2)Pay attention. Author Geneen Roth has said “ we live our lives from the neck up.” Constantly in our minds thinking mostly worrisome thoughts we are connected to nothing but ideas that breed fear and dis-ease. Notice the world around you, your breath, your body. When we start to notice the parts in which the flow moves through, you will notice the flow.
(3)Meditate. Deepak Chopra writes “If you think you don’t have time to meditate for 30 minutes per day, then you need to meditate for 2 hours per day.” If 30 minutes overwhelms you, start small, with 2 or 3 minutes every day. Meditation is the key to connecting with your flow. It slows down your thoughts so you can listen to the subtle but powerful flow of life.
Reconnection to this flow is vital. If you are already in a place where you operate from something other then the “shoulds” and “right thing to do” then you are in flow. If you feel stuck, unhappy or an emptiness you cannot fill, it is time to reconnect to your power, joy, your essence, the flow that is you.

Step #2 is so right on! Love it! This was a very good reminder to continue to do the work to connect with the “Flow”…can be easy at times to fall out of it and get wrapped up in the world around us.
~Thanks, Kelsea!
Thanks Kelsea!
I had a super stressful week and this is a great reminder as to why I am doing what I am doing. I think I am finally on the right path.
I will make a conscious effort this week to listen to my heart body mind and soul and it’s flow.
Do what you love! , such a simple statement that makes life that much better!
