“Leap and the net will appear.” As a new business owner, these words hold a lot of meaning for me. As an entrepreneur in this day and age you definitely need a lot of passion and perseverance. It seems like today, you are constantly hearing of someone starting up something and everybody wants a piece of the pie without the corporate Joe Schmo serving it up. Especially in my line of business – holistic wellness – I face a lot of competitors that all have the same background but I choose to feel honored to able to be part of a large movement geared toward helping people.
It took me some trial and error to go into the business world as a solo-preneur, but by sticking to my guns and staying true to my passion I started my own business. I want to inspire you and dare you to just leap. Step outside of your boundaries, do things you’ve never imagined yourself doing! Once you take this leap, you’ll see that nothing is as scary as it seems. I can tell you nothing is as bad as you make it out to be in your head. The more you sit around trying to talk yourself into it, the less likely you do anything. So with that said I am daring you to follow my lead, and leap into anything you’ve been dying to try! Your inner self will thank you.
We all know the phrase, “Fight the Fear and Do it Anyways”. It’s easier said than done and I can attest to that. How do you leap and fight?
1) Stay True to Yourself In order for your business to really take off, it is way important to maintain your own personality and integrate yourself into it. Rather than letting it change you. Chances are you started your own business so you could really be able to reflect yourself into it and make it your own. Why pull the plug halfway through?
2) Be truly + utterly Passionate Smart businesses know that the key to success is by being passionate in one’s work. You do not want to see your job as a chore but rather as something you love. If you don’t it will very quickly be something you do not look forward to and that will be obvious in all the work you create.
3) Stay Laser Focused Just starting out a brand new business can be very time consuming and challenging. There will be a lot of ups and downs in the beginning stages and It’s all too easy to get distracted or ignore that long to do list. To see success you need time – and a lot of focus s start by working through the most important items and check them off first. Keep yourself focused on the end goal. Distractions can be good; you’ll want to allow yourself the time for yourself. After all work and no play makes Jake a dull boy!
When you learn to let go of any self-doubting voices and learn to take that leap you will watch your business grow and prosper. Whatever your line of work is, you will expect positive and negative feedback, not everyone will resonate with what you are offering. However, take this with a grain of salt, by following your passion + desire and riding the roller coaster plus as a new business owner you can avoid being another statistic. It’s been said that 8 out of 10 new businesses fail within the first three years. Don’t let this happen to you! If you had the courage to start why fail? You’ll be surprised at how much the world needs you. read more →
