Coconuts are one of the greatest gifts on the planet. Coconut oil has been used as a food and medicine since the dawn of history. Ayurverda (the medicine of India) and the medicinal systems of Polynesia have long advocated its therapeutic and cosmetic properties.

Unlike the high calorie, cholesterol-soaked, long-chain, saturated animal fats found in meat and dairy products, coconut oil is a raw saturated fat containing mostly medium-chain fatty acids that our body can metabolize efficiently and convert to energy quickly. Everyone is hearing the buzz about the benefits of Omega-3s and one of the best sources for the good stuff is Salmon.

Sure, you can leave it plain and bake it, but why not make it saucy and exciting?  This is one of my favorite recipes because it’s literally bursting with flavor, it’s  salty and a little sweet (always a winning combo!) plus has great immunity boosting ingredients like garlic and ginger.  That little kick of red pepper flakes will get your metabolism all revved up.

Healthy deliciousness has been served!

Anger is a very real human emotion, but one that is not socially acceptable. We’re told since we are young to, “be nice!” “behave!” “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!”. But rarely were we also given the tools to deal with anger or frustration when it came up, so many times, it turns into something bigger and begins to affect us on a subconscious level, and controlling our behavior making us feel out of control or just plain numb. Anger is masked hurt, which is rooted in fear. When we are able to heal our anger, we are able to align with our higher self, expressing ourselves in a way that is authentic to us–from a place of love, not fear, creating deeper connections and freedom from the ego’s perceptions of hurt, pain, blame, guilt and all suffering.
